Cincinnati USA:  Evolution of a World-Class Destination

World-class. It’s an adjective used to describe everything from fine wine to great architecture. And it’s the high standard Cincinnati USA uses to evaluate how to put its best foot forward.  Cincinnati USA is the home of worldwide business and industry leaders, sought-after international events, renowned arts and culture, and a global world view and influence that impacts every neighborhood and every business.

 Fortune 1000 Companies

Cincinnati USA has evolved into a world-class destination, with the infrastructure, events, venues and experienced professionals to match.

Fortune 500 Companies Grow Here

Nine Fortune 500 companies and 14 Fortune 1000 companies are headquartered in the Cincinnati area, and the region ranks in the nation's Top 10 markets for number of Fortune 500 headquarters per million residents, higher than New York, Boston, Chicago or Los Angeles. More than 360 Fortune 500 companies maintain operations in Cincinnati.

International Events and Conventions
Cincinnati hosts a range of international events throughout the region. One of the biggest will be the 2012 World Choir Games, expected to bring $73.5 million in economic impact, 20,000 participants and 200,000 spectators from around the globe. Major international conventions consistently choose Cincinnati, including the 2011 League of United Latin American citizens (LULAC), 2014 International Association of Firefighters (IAFF) Convention, and 2014 National Urban League Conference.

“Why Cincinnati? It offers infrastructure. It offers history. The people are warm, welcoming and friendly. When you have young people from all over the world competing in Cincinnati, you want them to bring home a good impression. Not only of the city, but of the entire United States and its people. That’s what Cincinnati has to offer.”

- Gunter Titsch,
President of INTERKULTUR, organizer of the World Choir Games

Sister Cities and International Chambers
To actively stay connected throughout the world, Cincinnati USA has adopted seven sister cities: Liuzhou, China – Nancy, France – Munich, Germany – Gifu, Japan – New Taipei City, Taiwan – Kharkiv, Ukraine – Harare, Zimbabwe. In addition, Cincinnati USA is home to international chambers of commerce, including the Japan America Chamber, Greater Cincinnati Chinese Chamber, African-American Chamber, Indian American Chamber and the Hispanic Chamber of Greater Cincinnati.

World Affairs Council and Global Cincinnati

Global Cincinnati, a project of the Greater Cincinnati World Affairs Council (GCWAC), is a one stop site for all things global in Cincinnati USA. The current site includes a calendar of international events for the many non-profits, business links and global specialists listed, as well as global resources and information about our region. To find out more about Global Cincinnati, contact GCWAC at 513.621.5222 or visit their web site.

Arts Events
Cincinnati USA is frequently on the short list for world-renowned arts exhibits and events. Most recently, Cincinnati hosted the Keith Haring exhibit at the Contemporary Arts Center, an expansive collection of authentic posters covering the history of the circus in America at the Cincinnati Art Museum, and a Cleopatra exhibit at Cincinnati Museum Center (Cincinnati was one of only five U.S. stops and the only one in the Midwest).
